About Lifetime Care
The issue of care for the elderly has, over the past few years, become a much discussed subject and one that has captured the media's attention. You only have to pick up a paper or watch television to be exposed to the debate on who should pay for long term care.
We are all living longer*. As the boom generation of the post war years grows older the population as a whole ages. Unfortunately, this increased longevity is not always matched by increased good health in the later years and there is a high probability that some form of long term care will be needed.
In addition to the demographic trends, social and political changes are also contributing to the need for people to consider some kind of provision. Such is the growing pressure on local government spending that Social Services department will no longer automatically pick up care bills.
For everyone, long term care is an issue that simply cannot be ignored.
